Nduka attended several interviews and endured. His turning point came when he designed a beautiful card for his neighbor’s birthday. The neighbor took the card to UBA and it caught the attention of the ED secretary and they took his matter to the head of graphic section, that was how he got a job with UBA and later became the head of the Graphic section.

“Story Time:
I worked at an advertising agency in Lagos from 2002 to 2006, where we were owed 3-4 months’ salary. Despite the financial struggles, I had an internal voice urging me to ‘wait’ whenever I considered making a move. I ignored it and started attending interviews, but I kept failing.

One notable experience was at Tequila Advertising, where the MD advised me to return to my current agency despite passing the interview. I continued working, married, but struggled financially with my new wife. We prayed for a breakthrough.

A turning point came when my neighbour Mike’s family celebrated their birthdays in September 2005. I created a beautiful birthday card, and he took the card to UBA, and it  caught the attention of the ED’s secretary, Henry. And they took my matter to the  head of the Graphic section.

When he saw my CV, he told me he had worked in that Advertising Agency for two years and could not cope. But I survived the company for four years! So he gave me a strong recommendation. That was how I got a job on the bank in UBA.

I later became the head of the Graphic section, and some of the companies that I had been attending interviews were now the ones pitching their businesses to me with other members of the Bank. I felt so good and grateful that they did not employ me.
