How a Visa Rejection Became the Catalyst for My Greatest Growth.

9 years ago, I thought I was on the brink of something big. I had secured admission into a UK university for my Master’s degree. My bags were packed.

My car in Nigeria, sold. I submitted my bank statement and my admission letter, confident that my visa would be granted.

But then came the unexpected: Visa rejected. Because my funds hadn’t been in the account for the required 28 business days. I had moved it from my investment account in a bank to a savings account in another bank.

The money was real. But to them, it wasn’t “seasoned” enough to show proof of ownership. I was told to reapply after 28 business days. But I had already dismantled my entire life. I didn’t just feel rejected, I felt homeless.

The next day, I drove to Maryland Mall in Ikeja to clear my head. On the way, and even in the parking lot, I kept praying in tongues, asking God for direction.

I was confused and distraught. And then right as I was about to step out of the car I heard a name:

EMOTIONS CITY.

That moment changed everything. What felt like a closed door became my open Heaven. Today, the vision that was birthed from that heartbreak, Emotions City has:

✅ Trained over 100,000 professionals in 40 countries

✅ Produced 384 certified Emotional Intelligence specialists in 18 nations

✅ Created a multi-award-winning documentary

✅ Opened doors that got me a U.S. Green Card in just 6 months

✅ Granted me citizenship in 2 years

✅ And led me to serve as a Behavioral Health Professional in the U.S. Army

What began as rejection has become redemption. That single “No” was God’s way of saying, “I have something bigger. Just wait.”

And now? I live a life that no longer needs a visa.
