A Nigerian Chef based in Enugu has celebrated eleven years of being married to her husband. The chef identified simply as Chinelo took to the popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter, to share their story. The chef shared a Twitter thread that talked about how she and her husband struggled in their first years of marriage.
She revealed that they both married young, she was 22 years old and her husband was 26. According to her, they argued and quarreled a lot over food.
She explained that she loves onions and she makes sure to put it in her food, but her husband hated them and he always complained about it.
Chinelo said he would normally force the food down, but one day he refused to eat what she cooked and continued to refuse.
The chef noted that their parents had to intervene for the fight to end. She said her mother called her and told her that she should not force him to eat what he did not eat for 26 years of his life.
Her mother-in-law also called to beg her not to give him onions. She said her mother-in-law told her that she also likes onions but she always blended it with food so he would not see it in the food. Chinelo ended her story by saying God and their love for each other brought them this far. She said their friends were scared that they might not make it because they were too young.
God did all this for me in one She added that they all did not know that they were two imperfect children of God who were in love and vowed to respect each other.
