Meet The Lady Who Made History With 3.84 GPA As A Law Graduate From Legon

  • She is one of seven other students who completed the course with a first-class

April Amanda Nutakor was adjudged the valedictorian for the University of Ghana Law School 2019/20 academic year.

She completed her Bachelor of Laws (LLB with a First Class and a Final Grade Point Average of 3.84.

Amanda’s GPA is also a historic one because she becomes the first law student from the Premier University Law School to earn a 3.8+ GPA since 2012.

She has been impressive from the beginning of her course, as a result of her excellent grades obtained in the first year, she was recognized as one of the top four students to benefit from the annual merit-based Lebanese Community Scholarship which covered tuition and part of accommodation fees at Legon.

Miss Nutakor started her basic education in Ukraine. She continued her secondary education at The Masters Senior High School at North Legon in Accra, where she was adjudged as the best General Arts student of her year group.

She gained admission to the University of Ghana’s School of Law to pursue a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in 2016.

Amanda has a keen interest in volunteering. As a student, she volunteered as a peer partner to international students through the International Programmes Office at the University of Ghana.

She also worked with the Legal Resources Centre, a non-governmental organization in Accra, where she drafted development proposals concerning prisoners’ rights and participated in mentoring members of rural communities on human rights issues.

She is one of seven students who graduated with first-class honours on Thursday, July 30, 2020, virtual congregation ceremony.

The seven consist of three males and four females.

The other six students are; Prosper Batariwah, Vanessa Alabi, Esmeralda Akorfa Afenyo, Emmanuel Dei-Tumi, Seth Doe, and Emmeline Ziwu.
