Gift Chinonso Agodi speaks to Elorasblog in this interview.

Please tell us a little bit about your background?

My name is Gift Chinonso Agodi, i was born and brought up in Imo State, Nigeria, alongside my other siblings. There are 6 of us. We grew up in a pretty much humble background. I started some part of my education in Imo state before moving to Anambra and then leaving Nigeria to the abroad.

What was your dream profession growing up?

I really wanted a career in the media sector. Say journalism or mass communication but I was too young to make that kind of decision in an African home, that’s how I ended up in the medical field but I think growing up and embracing adulthood, I have figured out that I am in the right place. This version of me would really not want to have anything to do with the media life.

Can you share with me your journey to Entrepreneurship?

One of the most aspects that shaped my life all round is family. I didn’t need to go out there to hear others talk about hardwork and having something to do, my parents was my first understanding of that. So, I have always wanted to create, turn ideas into real life scenarios and all that. I think that’s what I can describe as the summary of my journey.

Gen Z Network:Where did you get the Inspiration?

I am someone that has always been passionate about anything that concerns young people like myself. My brother randomly called me “genzpresident” one day and I went on IG and tried to change my username into that, luckily it was available, nobody has ever used it, so I just clicked save and that’s how everyone around me started calling me that. I sat in my secret place one day and the inspiration came to do something with that name, and so I started writing what I wanted to do done, the name just came in, “GenZ Network”

What are the services provided by Gen Z Network?

We cover all aspect of development and empowerment for young people. From workshops & mentorship, community pairing systems, skill development programs, leadership pipelines, youth mental development, Advocacy and public awareness campaigns, events, summits, virtual learning, and outreach

At Gen Z Network Youths are empowered with digital, creative, and leadership skills. How do you achieve this?

We run boot camps, online events, seminars, etc. We had physical events in my base country and one of the projects for the new year is to take that aura home.

Any testimony from students impacted by your platform?

Yes, of course. We had a LinkedIn mastery class the last time and the reviews were mind blowing from people who participated.

Did you attend any form of training before setting up this business?

Yes, I have ran some personal self development training severally. I have also had the honor of learning closely with some professionals.

How do you generate income through Gen Z Network?

We are still building. You know we just turned a year and even though it looks like we have been here for longer than that. The time for generating income is coming. But for now we are focused on laying a foundation that can foster longevity.

Many young youths have business ideas but lack the funds to start, what’s your advice to them?

Start with what you have and where you are, that’s how you create opportunities for investments. Nobody really wants to pour into an empty cup and most importantly, nobody owes you funding.

Can you share with me the setbacks and challenges you’ve encountered in this business?

GenZ Network is not a business. This is a community where youths are shaped. One of the major problems we have encountered is financial stability. We have plans for funding in future but for now, every steps we are taking is from a personal financial strength and that can be challenging but at the end of the day, what needs to be done gets done, it’s worth it.

Where do you see Gen Z Network  in 5 years?

We would touch every country of the world. So far we have a handful of membership countries for the community and it’s not about the numbers for us, it’s the value we bring and the impact we create. We are looking forward to more active communities and of course a solid academy where the lives of young people are being transformed positively.
