Media personality Chude Jideonwo was invited to speak at the Annual Conference organized by the Psychology Department of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife. And he spoke about self-identity in a digital age.
Sharing photos on Facebook, he wrote:
“I enjoyed being keynote speaker at the Annual Conference organized by the Psychology Department of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
They asked me to speak about self-identity in a digital age, and it was a delight to be able to geek out unashamedly about the Jungian concept of individuation in analytical psychology.
In my book ‘How Depression Saved My Life’, out in September, I lay out in two of the chapters why discovering your own self as an individual separate from society and the interminable pressure of social media and the fast pace of morder’ life is the most urgent concern of this age and for this generation.
I shared the lessons from my book through stories and ideas that connect with them in Nigeria.
We had such a blast. I love those guys. And I particularly loved the opportunity to go on a long road trip from Lagos, through Ogun and Oyo to Ife.
I love travelling by road in Nigeria sooooo much! 😭It’s always one of my favorite things to do. 🥰
