Man Who Works Abroad Says He’s Glad He’s Living His Parents Dream

A man named Johnpaul N. Nnakwe has shared the reason why he relocated to work abroad.

He thanked his parents for sacrificing so much on his education.

Sharing a lengthy post on LinkedIn, he wrote:

The best thing my parents did for us was investing in our education and starving themselves the luxury of life to get this done.
At the university, I took it upon myself to bleed if need be to get the choicest of all that was available.

Night class was back to back if unavoidable. Sleeping on the nursing station table some nights. Made friends with nurses who were already working that made me believe it could be me earning salaries someday.

I persevered, I read all available to read and a bit extra. Using both Nursing and Medical libraries. Had friends from the medical college teach me one or two as the case may be as no knowledge is a waste.

NYSC got me working my way into oil and gas but I realised there is no due process in the recruitment exercise. It’s either you have the connection or you’re ready to pay the heavy facilitation fee to get in.

My question was” why pay for a job when I can actually work myself towards leaving Nigeria?” Atleast to work in an environment where there is opportunity for one to be many things. Where anybody can be somebody without knowing anybody.

Am I enjoying the journey so far?
My answer is yes!!!
A wise man once said” forget what they told you, go see things for yourself “
I’m glad I’m living my parents dreams as I have been to places they only WISHED to be. All thanks to their sacrifices.

To my fellow youths, there is really opportunities out here for everyone to thrive. The deal breaker is; you must make sacrifices in order to have something others never had.

Are you read to make sacrifice today?
