Man Who Engaged In
Menial Jobs To Survive When He Was Younger, Becomes A Chartered Accountant, Shares Throwback Photos

Chartered Accountant, Abudukerimu Sule, has shared the story of his career journey on LinkedIn and how he suceeded.

Read his post below:

The dream to become an accountant and a finance manager started many years ago when I visited a bank (name withheld) in my community. What caught my attention was the black suit, sky blue shirt and a tie. As a child, the immediate urge was to wear the same suit. The concern, however, was how and when I would get to that point.

Fast forward to when I gained admission to study accounting at the Polytechnic. To keep the dream alive, I had to engage in menial jobs (See picture 2).The funds realised from these jobs were utilised to feed me and my siblings. This was the period we lost our beloved mother. It is not a time to be emotional but a time to share how far God has brought me.

In the Polytechnic, the grades were always looking good and to the glory of God, I gained admission via direct entry to further my studies in accounting at the prestigious UNIBEN. Picture 3 was when I was in the Polytechnic and picture 4 was when I was in 400l in the university .

I became a chartered accountant in 2009 and afterwards, I have written and passed other accounting professional qualifications such as ACCA (2018) and CIMA UK (basis results released 14.04.2022).

Despite all the challenges along the way, God has never taken his eyes off me. I am overjoyed to be conferred the highest honour as a fellow of the institute of chartered accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). There is no better moment than now.
It is important to note that your environment/condition cannot define who you become in society. Train your mind to see the big future.
