IT TOOK 4(FOUR) YEARS
So, I am not one to write an epistle but this particular event in my life has to be shared.

I completed my MSc in 2018 at Coventry University Uk, after which I was so keen on applying for my PhD. I applied to a few schools in the UK but always got a rejection email for either lack of supervisors or topic being to broad. So I went back to Nigeria, got a job with Access Bank Plc but stayed on course as I kept sending out my applications.

I had applied to up to 10 schools in the Uk ,but every singly time I got a response it was always negative, .Countless times I cried myself to work and to bed and was already planning to give up but every time I remember that I am a child of Favour and had the Grace to keep pushing on ,it constantly boosted my confidence. I kept applying to various schools some of which I even forgot I applied to. Finally, my miracle came last year the 4th December 2022 when I received an email from De Montfort University for an interview for an application I submitted in July.It was a shock to me.

I took the interview with my two(2) proposed supervisors on the panel . I was told if successful the international team would reach out to me.

After the interview, I concluded that I would get an email rejecting me as usual on the basis of a broad topic or no available supervisors. Well two(2) hours later I got an admission letter to do my PhD in DMU with research in “The impact of open innovation and sustainability in manufacturing companies in Nigeria”.

I am super excited for this opportunity and grateful to my supervisors @Dr Destina and Dr Ayham Jaaron (PhD, CMBE, MCMI, PGCAP, FHEA),colleagues, friends, and family who supported me and above all God Almighty.I am also calling on all researchers in any of the keywords in my topic for support on this journey.
And to everyone out there struggling and pushing ,I just want to encourage you to keep pushing, DON’T GIVE UP, your time will definitely come . Remember,It took me four (4) years…..
