Lady Who Was Laid Off At Amazon Shares How It Impacted Her As She Was 7 Months Pregnant

A young mum named Laurin S. has shared briefly how she got laid off at Amazon and how it has impacted her.

Laurin who’s an entrepreneur is not certain about continuing with her Entrepreneurship journey or starting another job search.

A little over a month ago (12/16) was my last day at Amazon. My first time ever being impacted by a layoff, and while 7 months pregnant, at that. I decided to accept the Voluntary Release Program for my own sanity, however, I know that I am fortunate because I have entrepreneurial income to fall back on.

Throughout the last month I have been able to take a trip to DisneyWorld with my family to celebrate my son’s 13th birthday, celebrate the holidays, plan for and throw an amazing baby shower (pictured below), and rest A LOT, which I am so thankful for.

Everything is a bit up in the air right now, as I’m not entirely sure what I want to do after the baby is born – do I continue down the FT entrepreneur path or seek FT employment? We shall see.

My heart goes out to everyone impacted by layoffs over the last few months, especially my former colleagues at Amazon. Sending all of you thoughts and well wishes as we try to navigate these difficult times. 🧡
