Lady Recounts How She Felt About The Responsibility Of Marrying A Blind Man On Her Wedding Night And What She Did To Overcome Her Fears

I remember the night we came back from our marriage registry ,the day we became husband and wife legally.

That was the night it truly hit me.

As I lay there thinking about the journey ahead, all the responsibilities, all the adjustments, all the things I would have to step into getting married to a blind person … I whispered to myself, Anu, love won’t be enough.

Because love is beautiful but love alone doesn’t carry purpose.
Love alone doesn’t sustain strength.
Love alone doesn’t give grace for the days you feel overwhelmed.

I had heard stories about women who married blind men. Stories that weren’t always encouraging. And deep down, I knew one thing ,I wanted our story to be different.

So I turned to my husband and said,
Babe, you see this journey ehn… we need God o.

And from that night, we started waking up at midnight to pray. It became our lifestyle. Our anchor. Our secret place.

We prayed for divine help.
For favour.
For strength.
For divine connections.
For ease where things looked hard.

And somewhere along the line, even William in my belly started waking me up at that same time 🤣 As if heaven had already enrolled him in the routine.

Looking back now, I can say this with my full chest:

It was never just love holding us together.

It was God’s grace carrying us and still carrying us

So I asked that you please find a place in your heart to pray for more strength for us🙏
