King Charles Lauds Tinubu On Nigeria’s Transformation
At a graceful state banquet in Windsor Castle, King Charles III offered a heartfelt and engaging tribute while welcoming Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady.
The monarch, joined by his wife, expressed deep appreciation for the President’s visit during the sacred period of Ramadan, acknowledging the significance of traveling during such a time. With warmth and sincerity, he extended wishes of peace, blessings, and joy, rounding off his message with a gentle “Ramadan Mubarak.”
Reflecting on his visit to Nigeria in 2018, King Charles fondly recalled meeting revered traditional leaders, including the Sultan of Sokoto, the Ooni of Ife, the Olu of Warri, and the Emir of Kano.
He noted that beyond Nigeria’s famously warm hospitality, the nation has undergone a remarkable transformation.
In his words, Nigeria has not just changed—it has “arrived.”
He highlighted the country’s vibrant population of over 230 million people, with a youthful energy poised to tackle global challenges with creativity and determination.
The King also celebrated the strong presence of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, praising those who have made meaningful contributions across business, technology, academia, law, science, sports, literature, and the arts.
He spoke admiringly of the many individuals of Nigerian heritage he has encountered quiet achievers making a difference in schools, universities, businesses, and even the National Health Service.
He further noted the impact of The King’s Trust, through which many young Nigerians have found opportunities to grow and thrive over the past five decades.
The evening unfolded as a soft blend of diplomacy and admiration, with King Charles’ words painting a warm and uplifting picture of Nigeria’s journey and its people’s enduring influence.
