Kenyan Lady, Who Sold Pencils With Her Pocket Money At Age 7, Becomes An Entrepreneur & Chief Executive Officer Of International Brand Solutions (IBS), Meet Agnes Mulewa

From selling pencils to eggs, the discipline of saving from her profits taught her some of the critical lessons of being an entrepreneur.

At the age of 7, Agnes Mulewa knew she had an entrepreneur blood flowing through her vein.

She bought pencils with her pocket money and re-sold them to her classmates at a higher price.

She saved all her profits to invest later in other money-making projects, and to help her single-parent mother.

Agnes Mulewa Ng’ang’a later became one of Kenya’s rising entrepreneurs at the age of 22 years. She is the chief executive officer of International Brand Solutions (IBS).

The firm worth over Sh6 million, is a fast growing research marketing company that is involved in rebranding to easily meet the market demand and the right audience.

She saw that the current generation of girls in the society are not well groomed for the future.

So Mulewa started a girl empowerment programme to mentor those who want to get into business.

She said girls should give the same attention they give to beauty and fame to education and advancing their professional career.
