“I Was In An Abusive Marriage For 10 Years, Which Drove Me To Become An Alcoholīc” – Actress Ayo Adesanya Opens Up On Her Bitter Marital Ordeal

Nollywood actress Ayo Adesanya is opening up about her personal life and crashed marriage.

In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Ayo revealed that she was in an abusive marriage for 10 years, which drove her to become an alcoholīc.

She recounted how her ex-husband would beat her anywhere he saw her.

According to her, she couldn’t leave because of the shame that people would say she couldn’t keep a man. Ayo noted how Bimbo Akintola and some of her colleagues got angry because she couldn’t leave her ex.

Ayo Adesanya further recalled how her ex threatened to pluck out her eyes with a knife and sent her son away to Ibadan at 1 year old because he was jealous of the attention she was giving to him. She also revealed why her next relationship didn’t work out and her journey back to Nollywood.

Ayo Adesanya was formerly married to one Goriola Hassan, but they are now divorced. She also has a son.
