“I Have Never Been Involved In Any Fraudulent Activities During My Public Service Career” — EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede

The chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, has firmly denied allegations of corruption, insisting that he has maintained integrity throughout his years of service in the public sector.

Speaking during an interview on Channels TV, Olukoyede stated, “I have never been involved in any fraudulent activity all through my service in the public sector,” adding that his record is clean and open to scrutiny.

According to him, “No Nigerian can say I’ve collected money from them.”

Elaborating on his time as chief of staff, the EFCC chairman said, “I served as chief of staff and I can stand to say, and I challenge everybody, no Nigerian can say this man has ever collected bottle of coke or one naira to influence my sense of judgement or carrying out my responsibility.”

He further spoke on his tenure as secretary, saying, “As secretary, you can’t trace any asset to me or my family, and no Nigerian can say I collected one dime in the course of carrying out my activities.”

When asked if he considered himself a rich man, Olukoyede jokingly said he does not understand the concept of a “rich man,” emphasizing that he did not share any assets with members of his family.

Reiterating his position, he told Nigerians, “I have never been involved in fraudulent activities as chief of staff or as secretary. I’m telling Nigerians,” stressing that integrity and accountability remain central to his public service record.
