
Hairdresser Who Aspired To Style Chimamanda Adichie’s Hair Fulfills Dream 5 Years After
Renowned author and literary icon Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie recently made a hairdresser’s dream come true after five years.
In 2020, the Enugu-based stylist wrote down her dream of styling Chimamanda’s hair in her copy of the author’s novel ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’.
A heartwarming video has shown the lovely moment the hairdresser appreciated the author after finally styling her hair.
An Enugu-based hairdresser’s joy knew no bounds as she finally styled Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s hair, five years after desiring it. Speaking with Chimamanda after styling her hair, the hairdresser said she had written down her dream of styling the author’s hair someday.
According to the hairdresser, she wrote down her dream of styling Chimamanda’s hair in her copy of the author’s popular novel ‘Half of a Yellow Sun,’ which she bought on her birthday in 2007 and finally completed in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the first page of the novel, the hairdresser wrote: “Dear Chimamanda, “This is to let you know that someday, I will style your hair. “20/04/2020.” She signed beneath her written dream, not knowing it would take five years to materialise.
In a video posted on TikTok, the hairdresser showed Chimamanda where she had written the dream and appreciated her for making it a reality.
The author was thrilled and hugged the stylist. Commenting on her encounter with Chimamanda, the hairdresser wrote: “5 years later, my dream to style Chimamanda’s hair came to pass. If your dream is valid was a person, that would be me!! . Thank you CNA for everything. You are loved deeply!!” She displayed Chimamanda’s autograph, which she got on her copy of ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’.
