A white man named Dan Lukasik has shared a short story on how a 16 year old boy filled a void in his life.
Read his post below as shared on LinkedIn:
Six years ago, George walked into my life. He was a boy of 10. Now here we are enjoying a steak dinner on his 16th birthday last Friday.
I started out as his mentor, and we have become more like father and son over time as I have written in prIor posts here. George does not have a dad, and I don’t have a son.
I was poor in spirit 6 years ago. The winds of depression were howling through my life. It is remarkable and I am blessed that George has been part of my journey since then. It is in positive realationships that our souls are nurtured.
My depression doesn’t stand a chance against George’s big heart and great spirit.
