Fubara Hosts Port Harcourt Native Burna Boy And Dad
In now-viral photos, the singer, who wore a well-tailored dark blue kaftan, was seen standing beside the governor.
The Rivers-born hitmaker was also accompanied by Samuel Ogulu, his father, as well as music executive Soso Soberekon.
The purpose of the visit has not been disclosed.
This is not the first time the Grammy-winning singer has been hosted by a state governor. In 2021, he and his team visited the government house in Port Harcourt when Nyesom Wike was governor.
Following his Grammy win that year, the singer was also bestowed with Distinguished Service Star of River State (DSSRS), the second-highest honour in the oil-producing state.
The Afrofusion artiste won the Best World Music Album category at the Grammy Awards for his album ‘Twice As Tall’ in 2021.
Wike gave N10 million each to the artistes that performed at Burna Boy’s homecoming concert.
Born Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy rose to prominence after releasing Like to Party, the lead single from his debut album L.I.F.E in 2013.
Since breaking into the mainstream, he has established himself as one of Africa’s most successful artistes, known for his genre blending style and chart topping projects.
