
“Five Years Ago, I Saw Him Scavenging For Plastic On The Streets Of Lagos To Survive. I Adopted Him”-Tunde Onakoya’ Shares Emotional Story As He Celebrates Young Boy Who Graduated With Flying Colors
Tunde Onakoya is a Nigerian chess player and coach, who holds the Guinness World Record for the longest marathon chess game.
As the founder and convener of Chess in Slums Africa, he has organised a number of interventions for children across slums in Lagos state including Majidun (Ikorodu), Makoko and recently, Oshodi.
Just recently, he celebrated a young boy on his x platform, sharing his story from 5 years ago when he saw him scavenging for plastic on the streets of Lagos to survive.. Tunde Onakoya adopted the young boy and today he graduated with flying colors.
Sharing a before and after photos of the young boy, he wrote:
“Five years ago, I saw him scavenging for plastic on the streets of Lagos to survive. I adopted him. Today the boy graduates with flying colors and a mind that’s ready to change the world.
There’s truly nothing love cannot change” ❤️
