In 2016 I graduated from Texas Southern University with a Bachelor’s in Communication. Everyone told me that I was dumb for going back to school after having my son and I wouldn’t make it on my own being a full time college student and full time mother.
I was told that I wouldn’t graduate in 4 years, I was going to be on assistance forever and needed to just get a part time job and take care of my baby.
I doubted myself but realized I needed to do this for my son and I did. I graduated not only in 4 years but while taking 18 credit hours each semester with a new born baby living in houston alone I graduated with being on the Deans list abs Presidents list.
I found out I was pregnant In 2017 while I was in the process of getting my masters. Still not having any family around to help I pushed through and graduated with a Masters in Professional Communications and Digital media from Texas Southern University.
In 2018 I was offered a position to teach high school English while being 8 months pregnant. I accepted the position and started working asap. The time came for me to have my son but only working for a few months I wasn’t able to receive pay during my maternity leave which made me return back to work after having a c section in just 3 short weeks. Not only that, two teachers quit right before the school year was over so I had to take on 40+ kids all while being in my first year of teaching with 2 kids being a single mother barely making any money.
2022 I am still with the same District I originally started with trying to transition. I appreciate them for taking a leap of faith with having no prior experience at all they believed in me. It’s time for growth and change. Financially it’s time for change. I’m ready to advance in a company who will give me a chance and will appreciate my hard work and drive to be the best there is.
In 2022 I want my kids to know that I don’t give up, I push through, I fight for what I want, I am motivated by success and will work my butt off to get to the top.
I may not have the experience you are looking for but I’m a fast learner. I adapt to things quickly. I listen. I love constructive criticism not only to make me better but to do great things for your company. Give me a chance.
