Businessman Reminisces On How He Searched For A Job With His Friends 7 Years Ago, But The Good News Is They Are All Thriving In Their Careers

Global Talent Development Leader
Bode Roberts, has gone down memory lane remembering the hard days as he shares his latest achievment.

Read his post below as shared on LinkedIn:

7 years ago, I was still an unemployed youth.

The struggle was real and at some point in my life I thought I was not going to ever get a job. I remember how my two close friends and I, unemployed at the time will dress up in our corporate attire, move from offices to offices (on the island) to submit our CVs for jobs. Most times we were not allowed into the office premises, and at those points we got tired but never gave up.

One of us eventually got a Tech job from those daily drives. We were very much excited for him. He is currently a Digital Payments Expert at one of the leading financial institutions in Africa, while my other friend is a Senior Product Manager in one of the most valued Tech companies in Nigeria.

Last week Friday, one of the companies I’m privileged to lead got nominated for the Social Impact award and Startup of the year award by Art Of Technology Lagos.

As for me, in this half year alone I was recognized as one of the 30 Most Inspiring Young Africans by African Youth Development Group and also awarded the Outstanding CEO of the Year by Iconic Brand Awards.

In life, so many things are going to happen that you can’t necessarily control all the time, but you can control your reaction and what you do after it happens.

So that’s what I try to do. Stay focused, keep moving forward, normalize positivity, constantly develop myself and most importantly, give thanks to God in all situations.

I hope this helps
