  • Kizzmekia Corbett has been applauded as one of the people behind the drive for COVID-19 vaccination
  • Once a very studious student during her undergraduate days, the woman said that she never anticipated the feat she is having now
  • Corbett’s contribution is among other black people who have given their best towards eradicating the outbreak.

Dr Anthony Fauci, the leading expert on disease control in America, has praised a black medical official, Kizzmekia Corbett, as one of those behind COVID-19 vaccine.

He applauded the woman during a National Urban League forum when he was asked to identify the African Americans who have made great contributions towards ending the pandemic, ABC News reports. Corbett is one of the many key players preparing SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. She is also part of the intelligent few with Moderna, a company that has worked on vaccines that have proved over 90% effective.

It should be noted that mRNA vaccine, one of the anti-COVID-19 vaccines is expected to get authorisation from the authorities later in December. Kizzmekia Corbett has a great profile in America as a great medical official.

The black woman was a very bright student at the University of North Carolina. She was known as a very studious person who spent her free time in the laboratory. In speaking with the media, the woman said the core reason why she joined the coronavirus team was not because she wanted to develop a vaccine. She added that all she wanted was to study immune responses to vaccines.

Fauci said the inclusion of Corbett in the vaccine preparation should be a good sign to black Americans who still have some sort of distrust for the drug.
