‘Being Naked Is Not Beauty’ — First Lady Remi Tinubu Advises Girls
Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called on women to take active roles in mentoring young girls, particularly those from indigent backgrounds, emphasizing the importance of values, education, and moral guidance.
Speaking on March 6, 2026, during an interfaith Iftar and Lent breaking-of-fast event in Abuja, which brought together Muslim and Christian women, she highlighted the significance of cultural values, modesty, and nurturing the next generation.
“I challenge you to have a mentee with you. Pour into the life of a young girl from an indigent background. Help them with scholarship, teach them good virtue, teach them how to be good women,” she said, urging women to guide girls beyond academics.
She also spoke on the importance of modest dressing, noting, “Teach them how to dress well. Teach them how to cover up cause being n@ked is not beauty. Cause we don’t know why they are doing that, but beauty comes from within. God will also help our men and cr¥cify their eyes” She added jokingly.
