Read her post below:
This morning I found out I was laid off from #Meta. I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason.
When I joined Meta nearly a year ago I was ecstatic. As an African American Woman , I know that I am underrepresented in this space, and I was very happy to have the opportunity to be the change that I want to see.
I had the opportunity to work with so many brilliant people who are also just amazing human beings in general.
I was able to lead and partner on some very impactful projects during my time as IP Counsel at Meta including shaping IP Guidance for the Metaverse and working with my colleagues to further improve our Notice and Takedown Program.
I don’t know what’s next for me, but I’m optimistic about future opportunities. I have expertise in trademark prosecution and maintenance as well as trademark and copyright enforcement.
I’m also well-versed in negotiations, legal writing, research and license management. Finally, I have preference for roles in the entertainment, media, sports and tech industries. However, I am open to other opportunities.
“This too shall pass”
