Tunde Onakoya is a Nigerian chess player and coach, who holds the Guinness World Records for the longest marathon chess game.
He’s founder of Chess in Slums Africa.
Tunde Onakoya recounts how in year 2011 he gained admission into Lagos state University to study medicine and surgery, but it was the same year they increased the tuition from 25k to 250k, and he had to forfeit the program then as his parents could not afford it.
Years after he became a @TEDx speaker at the same university.

“Back in 2011, I gained admission into Lagos state University to study medicine and surgery, but it was the same year they increased the tuition from 25k to 250k. Had to forfeit as my parents could not afford it.
Today, I’m a @TEDx speaker at the same university 😊.”
