Nigeria’s Travel Content Creator, Alma Asinobi Makes History, Takes Nigerian Flag Across Seven Continents In 71 Hours
A Nigerian travel content creator, Alma Asinobi, has made history by becoming the first person to travel to all seven continents using a Nigerian passport.
Her remarkable journey, spanning a total of 71 hours, 26 minutes and 25 seconds, was not without its hurdles.
Throughout her adventure, Asinobi faced a series of obstacles, including visa complications, flight delays and the added challenges of navigating travel restrictions tied to her Nigerian passport.
On her X handle, she wrote: “Our Nigerian flag is officially the first and fastest flag to visit all 7 continents! I guess my work here is done. I cannot wait to be homeeeee.”
Asinobi’s achievement is notable, not just because of the feat itself but also because it highlights the difficulties faced by Nigerians when traveling abroad.
In another tweet she added: “Gosh… Continent 8 (Dreamland) was kind to me. No visas needed, no flight needed, just a bed. To be honest any bed would have been fine. I just needed my swollen feet to not move for a few hours and all I can say is… mission accomplished.
“As I was sleeping I heard ‘this is the final boarding call…’ and I jumped out of bed startled only to realize it was only a dream. That’s not normal.”
While Asinobi did not surpass the current Guinness World Record of 64 hours set by Johnny Cruz Buckingham, her accomplishment remains a historic milestone.
Now, she’s turning her focus to an exciting homecoming event on March 30, where she plans to set a new record by inviting Nigerians to sign the flag she carried on her global journey.
