“I Know I Will Get Into Fights With People And It Will Not End Well”-Chimamanda Adichie Reveals Why She Stays Off Social Media
Award-winning Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, has opened up about her decision to stay off social media, citing self-preservation as her primary reason.
The acclaimed author, known for her fearless takes on feminism, politics, and literature, made this revelation in a recent interview.
Adichie, who has always been vocal about her discomfort with fame, admitted that while she is grateful for being widely read, she never actively sought public recognition. However, when asked about her absence from social media, she responded with striking honesty.
“It was a choice of self-preservation. Not in a high-minded way, by the way. Just because I know that I will get into f+ghts with people. And it will not end well,” she said.
In a moment of humor-tinged candor, Adichie even confessed that if someone were to provoke her online, her instinct would be to take it beyond the screen. “Oh yeah, I would find where you live and come to you,” she joked.
