“I Can’t Continue The Movement I Started With The Same Energy As I’ve Been Receiving Death Threats, “-Corps Member, Ushie Shares Update

A Lagos-based National Youth Service Corps member, Ushie Uguamaye known as Raye with Tik Tok handle tallktoraye, went viral few days ago after lamenting about the incessant hike in prices daily. And her post became more controversial after she called president Tinubu Terrible.

Just recently Raye via her Tik Tok handle
@Talktotoraye shared an update of her life lately.

Raye says she doesn’t have the energy to fight anymore as she’s been receiving death threats. Some even advice her to leave the country if she can’t manage it like that.

Sharing a message on Tik Tok, she wrote:

‘I feel so ashamed that I haven’t been able to continue the movement I started with the same energy I had in the first three days, especially due to the threats I’ve received.

I truly wanted my voice to make a difference. I hoped that something good come out of it.

I envisioned price regulations being out in place. I envisioned MTN and Airtel being held accountable for the outrageous price hikes.

Yet, I went out to buy drinks again today, and once again, yesterday’s price is not today’s price.

Feels like nothing will ever change, people have advice me to manage until I leave the country.

But what if I want to stay here? What if I don’t want to leave?

Still, I look forward to the day when Nigerians will stand together as one regardless of tribe or what language we speak.

That will be the day we finally experience the change we deserve.”
