Chess Master, Tunde Onakoya Secures Visas For 5 Children From Chess In Slums To Compete At The Chess Conference In Athens Georgia, New York City And Harvard University.

Tunde Onakoya is a Nigerian chess player and coach, who holds the Guinness World Records for the longest marathon chess game.

As the founder and covener of Chess in Slums Africa, he has organised a number of interventions for children across slums in Lagos state including Majidun (Ikorodu), Makoko and recently, Oshodi.

Just recently in a new update, Tunde Onakoya revealed that 5 children from chess in slums just secured their Visas and will be traveling to America next week to compete at the Chess conference in Athens Georgia, New York City and Harvard University.

Sharing the amazing news on x, he wrote:

“I shed a few tears this morning. 5 children from chess in slums just secured their Visas and will be traveling to America next week to compete at the Chess conference in Athens Georgia, New York City and Harvard University.

Now they get to show the world what they’re made of.”
