“Celebrating a Milestone: My Journey to Becoming the Overall Best Graduating Student at Adekunle Ajasin University for the 2022/2023 set.
On December 14th, 2024, at the 13th Convocation Ceremony of Adekunle Ajasin University, I was honoured to graduate as the Overall Best Graduating Student of the 2022/2023 set, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Language with a CGPA of 4.82.
Reflecting on my undergraduate journey, I see a story of faith, determination, and growth. My academic success is a testament to God’s faithfulness and the support of incredible people.
In my first year, the encouragement from my roommates instilled in me a strong belief in the value of academic excellence. This influence stayed with me and shaped my approach to studies throughout my undergraduate years.
The journey wasn’t without its challenges moments of self-doubt, sleepless nights, and countless sacrifices. I often reminded myself that I could do better, pushing through illnesses and setbacks with a clear vision of what I wanted to achieve. Through it all, God’s grace sustained me and gave me the strength to persevere.
Alongside my academic pursuits, I was actively involved in other endeavours. From running a hairdressing and nail design business in my first and second years to joining Faith Heroic Generation, a networking and freelancing organization, in my third and fourth years. I learned how to balance multiple responsibilities.
Additionally, I served as an executive in my fellowship and dedicated time to organizing tutorials for my colleagues and junior coursemates. These experiences taught me invaluable lessons in self-discipline, prioritization, and resilience.
The journey was not always smooth, but it was a remarkable and great journey filled with different phases and eras, it all culminated in a victorious outcome with God’s grace by my side.
I have learned always to dream big and never limit myself. With faith in God, hard work, and perseverance, there’s no limit to what we can achieve. Here’s to new beginnings and even greater heights!
To everyone who played a role in this journey; my parents, siblings, family, friends, my Level Adviser Oluseyi Emmanuel, my Project Supervisor FRANCIS OYEBADE and all my Lecturers, thank you. Your love, support, and sacrifices mean a lot to me. This success is as much yours as it is mine.”
Congratulations to her.
