Pastor Tunde Bakare, Set To Unveil An Academic Institution To Prepare And Train Young Nigerians For Government And Public Administration

The founder of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has said he will unveil an academic institution to prepare and train young Nigerians for government and public administration.

Bakare made this known on Friday at the maiden edition of the citadel annual lecture in honour of his 70th birthday at the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The cleric said he had met the administrators of the University of Lagos and the Lagos Business School about the project, disclosing that the institution’s name would be Citadel School of Government.

He said, “A few months ago, I met with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos and the Director of the Lagos Business School. I said the Citadel Global Community Church needs to invest in the quality of people in our local government,” he said.

“Also, we need to raise a generation that represents the standard of the kingdom and the standard of winning by righteousness.

“I said by the grace of the living God, come April 1, 2025, we will start a Citadel School of Government.”

Bakare stated that the problems confronting Nigeria were not with the laws, but with those in the corridors of power.

He called for the urgent need of Nigerians to fix the country, adding that the country was in dire need of refined people to occupy grassroots politics.

During the panel session, legal luminary, Wole Olanipekun, who chaired the occasion, hailed Bakare’s political activism and emphasised the need for clergymen to be interventionists to revitalise the country.

In his address, erudite law scholar, Professor Taiwo Osipitan, stated that the local government was the engine of development of every country that needs investment.
