I’ve Never Had Sex, Says Cleric Ebuka Obi

Ebuka Obi, the founder of the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach (ZPMO), says he has “never had sexual intercourse”.

In a recent interview, with BBC Igbo, the cleric revealed that he made a vow to God 12 years ago to remain celibate until marriage.

The Imo-born cleric, who has nearly 30,000 followers on Instagram, attributed his celibacy to his desire to hear God’s voice.

“I have never dated before. I have never had sexual intercourse with any woman. Any woman who says I’ve had sexual relations with her should speak up,” he said.

“Qualities in a woman is not the reason I am not yet married. What is holding me back is that I want to hear the voice of God on it. He has never directed me about marriage. I prayed for 100 days last year to hear from God about it but there was no sign.”

Obi revealed that he left his electronic trading business in 2009 to start Zion Ministry.

The cleric also defended his prophecies, saying the Holy Spirit inspires them. He said he never attended theology school but started his prophetic practice at age eight.

Obi is an evangelist, singer, author, teacher and prophet. He is born a twin into the staunch Roman Catholic family of Vincent Obi of Ubulu-Ihejifor in Oru-West LGA, Imo.

He is also the pioneer of ZPMO; a non-denominational ministry, established in 2009 and headquartered in Lagos.
