Young innovative Entrepreneur, Olanrewaju Olusoji Lateef is the founder of Planet Makers Ltd, a global platform designed to seamlessly connect suppliers, manufacturers, and end-buyers across the world.

Planet Makers is a procurement firm that deals with commodity trading, oil supply, and grain supply to West Africa. Olanrewaju Olusoji Lateef speaks to Elorablog in this interview.

Please tell us a little bit about your background?

I’m Olanrewaju Olusoji Lateef, a 46-year-old married man. I was born and raised in Lagos State on July 5th. I am from Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, and have children, including a daughter who is an undergraduate at the University of Lagos. I work as a realtor and oil/gas broker, driven by a thirst for success after losing my mother at age three.

What was your dream profession growing up?

Growing up, I dreamed of becoming a real estate professional despite facing challenges like stress and poor academic performance due to my complex background.

Can you share with me your journey to Entrepreneurship?

After university, I learned skills like tiling and POP installation and started my business, Planet Makers, in 2009 with the support of my fiancé (now wife).

Planet Makers Ltd: Where did you get the Inspiration?

My inspiration comes from my mentor, Mr. Gbade Alabi, a successful business tycoon who encouraged me to read entrepreneurial books and motivated me to become a young, successful businessman.

What are the services Planet Makers Ltd provides?

Planet Makers is a procurement firm that deals with commodity trading, oil supply, and grain supply to West Africa, bridging the gap between manufacturers and consumers worldwide.

Do you have an app or a website?

We are currently developing our app and website, which will be available soon.

How can companies trust your services?

We prioritize security by only dealing in bank-to-bank transactions and requiring a payment undertaking letter from clients.

Many young youths have business ideas but lack the funds to start, what’s your advice to them?

I advise young entrepreneurs to be consistent, honest, transparent, patient, and hardworking, as these values have helped me in my journey.

Where do you see Planet Makers Ltd in 5 years?
