Nigerian Man Celebrates One Year Of His Wife Relocation To The UK To Further Her Studies, Shares How Lonely He Was After She Left

Nigerian man named Goodluck Chiemelie Okechukwu has celebrated one year after his beautiful wife relocated to the UK for furthering of her studies and how when she left he felt so lonely because they were apart for almost four months.

Sharing on Facebook, he wrote:

“On this day last year, my wife arrived in the UK, a country where she had no family or friends waiting to welcome her.

Having departed Nigeria on Sunday afternoon, 29th October 2023, her flight relayed through Nairobi, Kenya before heading for Heathrow.

I remember getting the text, ‘I am in London now’, and the pride that spread across my heart. There is the story of the requisite courage and then the tales of tears from the agony of loneliness for the months we were apart. I still feel the warmth of the tears that soaked my chest as she wept when I bade her final goodbye.

She would, according to her, cry all the way from there through check-in, boarding, and take-off, so much that airport officials and flight attendants kept asking her if she was okay.

I couldn’t cry. But I will always remember the sudden slice of emptiness that cut through my heart when I returned to our Lagos residence alone. It was an echoing, haunting void.

The life and colour was gone out of it and I would endure the grayness for nearly four months. I don’t want to ever be in that void again in my life.

Comfort has gone ahead to settle into a remarkable career here, often recognized for her aptitude and character. And, already, she is furthering her education. Impeccable woman who has all my respect, whom I am certain is still at the beginning of a great life.
