“My Kids Are Schooling In The UK And Their Mom Is There More Than I Am, Lately”- Bovi Opens Up About His Family

Nigerian comedian Bovi is one of the most talented and most popular comedians in the nation. In addition to wearing that hat and the hat of filmmaker and producer of many productions, he is also a father to three children and is during a new interview with TVC, revealing why he doesn’t allow his children see him lying down or not wearing shirt during video calls.

Here is what Bovi had to say, and the reason he explained for doing this.

Bovi made the revelation when speaking about how we can raise a generation of men with good heads on their shoulders. Bovi said:

BOVI: We need to raise the boy child and adjust how the boy child is raised. If you encourage your boy child that you go and play, but the girls are inside, these things, they sit deep. We need to fix that aspect and then it will be easier for the women.

I think repeating the message more often will do the magic. If it would do the magic, I don’t know but the new breed of men, we need to focus on those men that are coming.

I am raising my daughter to become a weapon in whatever form she likes. I am raising her to know that she’s a creator just like her father. And whatever she thinks, she can achieve.

As regards to what I’m saying about raising men, because my kids are schooling in the UK and their mom is there more than I am, lately I made a mental note that whenever I want to get on video call with them, I must be wearing a shirt and I must be seated. Because I’m always lying down.

So I’m like let them not think that ‘daddy no get work’ and stuff like that. These things affect the mind of a child as well. I don’t want my daughter to end up with a guy who ‘is always chill, he’s always lying down like my daddy’, when in reality he’s not working hard. And I don’t want my sons to think that ‘I can’t kill myself’ because they don’t see me when I’m working, they see me when I’m resting.

So I have to put on that front.
