Adunni Ade Opens Up About Her Acting Career, Say It All Started After She Got An Invite From Saidi Balogun To Feature In One Of His Project Year 2011

Actress Adunni Ade has opened up about her career path, revealing she’s driven by passion rather than certainty.

In an interview with Hiptv, Ade discussed her transition from modelling to acting, starting with comedy skits on YouTube while living in the United States.

She said her breakthrough came in 2011 when filmmaker Saidi Balogun contacted her, leading to her relocation to Nigeria in 2012.

“I don’t know if it’s my calling. I just love entertainment. I started as a model many years ago. I sort of just transitioned into me starting with the comedy skits. I wasn’t even back here, yet. I was still in the States. I would just post on YouTube. I got a call from Saidi Balogun, a filmmaker. I flew down and featured on one of his projects. That was kind of what it was, I would always fly down to film and at some point, I just decided to move to Nigeria and just take this up. I just don’t limit myself to acting. At some point, the modelling was coming, more of the influencing gig I transitioned into the film as well and we’re still working. I had the first call in 2011. I think I moved down here in 2012,” she said.

With notable roles in Netflix’s “Tokunbo” and “Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti,” Adunni Ade has established herself as a versatile actress.
