Biggest Fear That Comes With The Job I Do – Ayra Starr

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr is the woman of the hour right now. Since bursting onto the scene, Ayra has been giving back to back hits from “Away” to “Bloody Samaritan” to “Rush” to her most-recent hit “Commas”. Outside of being a singer, she also does live performances, and in a new interview with American OAP Angela Yee, opened up about what that part of the job is like, and what her biggest fear is. Here’s what Ayra Starr had to say.

Speaking first about the performing and touring part of her job, Ayra Starr said:

AYRA STARR: I learned a lot of patience. I learned a lot of work goes into this, especially for stage. It’s a whole different ball game. You can make music in the studio, but on stage, when people are buying tickets to see you, you have to give them a show. And me I feel like I owe my fans like that. I’m such a perfomer, and I just want to give them the best.

So even when I’m not on my 100 or I’m feeling like tired or anything, people paid to come to this show. Sometimes I will see people packed outside and I’m just like “they’re really here for me? Wow!” I opened to Koffee the first year I released my EP.

And I understood that it was for her, that I was just opening for her. But, this one, people came for me. And I was just like wow, that’s crazy.

Speaking about her biggest fear that comes from doing her job, Ayra Starr revealed saying:

AYRA STARR: People throwing things on stage, that is one of my fears. It’s crazy. It’s disrespectful. If somebody does that to me, I know I’m going to find that person. I’m going to throw it back from stage. But, I don’t think it’s going to happen. That is my biggest fear.
