“This Is A Dream I Have Had Since I Was A Kid”- Nigerian Man Celebrates Becoming An American Citizen, Says It’s The Happiest Day Of His Life

Nigerian man named Michael Taiwo with X handle @AskMichaelTaiwo has celebrated his latest achievements on X as he recently became an American citizen. He narrated briefly how it has been a childhood dream and went further to describe his American experiences.

Today, I became a United States citizen.

This is a dream I have had since I was a kid, and today, it is now a reality. It is impossible to describe how I feel and it will take a while to sink in. This is definitely one of the happiest days of my life. At some points it looked unlikely but like countless immigrants before me, I persevered and made my case for why I deserve to be a citizen of the greatest nation in the history of the world.

America is not heaven. It is neither a perfect nor an ideal society. Yet, it is the best society that the human mind has been able to conceive and realize.
Even 247 years after its founding, America remains the land of the free and the home of the brave. This is still the land that attracts the best talents from all corners of the world and where those talents get rewarded. The American Dream is still alive and well.

Today, I get to be called one of the best titles there is: American citizen.
