Rapper Oladips Reveals How He Struggled With Hunger Despite Having The Popular Song ‘Lalakukulala’, While At LRR Records (Video)
Oladips says he struggled with hunger while signed to LRR Records, the label owned by Reminisce.
In an interview with the Honest Bunch Podcast, Oladips said he struggled to make a living despite having the popular song ‘Lalakukulala’.
The rapper recounted the time he reached out to Reminisce and told him that he wanted to leave his label.
Oladips said Reminisce initially responded with laughter and asked for an apology.
The rapper said Reminisce initially refused his request but stated that he had a right to express his feelings.
Oladips added that Reminisce later agreed but with unspoken tension conveyed in his body language.
“At that time I was going through the worst,” Oladips said.
“So one day I just sent him (Reminisce) a message that, ‘Boss, I do not think I can do this anymore’.
“The first thing he said was ‘LOL’. He now said okay, I should come to his house.
“I went to his house and he said I should apologise for the message I sent.
“I told him I would not apologise for expressing how I felt.
“Even though he said it is fine, I understand body language.”
This story from Oladips comes on the heels of his recent apology to Nigerians for his death controversy.
On November 15, the management of Oladips announced that the rapper had passed away.
They then proceeded to release the rapper’s 17-track album.
Shortly after, rumours were suggesting that the rapper had faked his death to gain clout.
On November 23, the rapper shared a “proof of life” video on his social media page.
Abdulrasheed Opeyemi, his PA, recently claimed that the rapper was dead for three days.
