Meet Quincy Abu, Nigerian/American Born Artist Known Musically As QSWYFT Who Creates Hip Hop/Afrobeats Music
Nigerian/American born artist, Quincy Abu, known musically as QSWYFT has once featured in music with popular singer, Skales and Emma Nyra. He’s a rapper, he creates Hip Hop and Afrobeats Music, he hopes to collaborate with Rema, Ayra Starr, & Tobenwigwe some day. He speaks to Elorablog in this interview.
Please share with me a little bit about your background?
I’m a Nigerian/American born and raised artist from Texas. My parents are from Edo State (agenebode).
What first got you into music?
Poetry was the connection into music, I wrote poetry as a youth and it challenged me to come up with meaningful lyrics and different flow patterns.
Who inspired you to make music?
2 pac inspired me to make music. The stories he told painted actual pictures and he also wrote poetry during his teenage days.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
The music i typically create is hip hop/afrobeats a good blend of happy vibes & chill moments with a ton of hustle and positivity.
Have you collaborated with any musician?
I have collaborated with Skales, Kirko Bangz, Young Deji, T-Rell, HollyHood Bay Bay, Emmanyra, Mr. Lucci.
Who do you look forward to collaborate with soon?
These are some of the artist I want to work with next Rema, Ayra Starr, & Tobenwigwe.
What’s your biggest dream for your music career?
Biggest dream of my music career is to break the top 10 US or UK charts and take care of my family!
If you could open a show for any artist, who would that be?
If I had any artist to open for right now it would be Oga Burna Boy or 50 cent.
What would you say is your biggest challenge in your music career?
The biggest challenge is finding a manager and building a solid team. Those 2 things are necessary in this industry.
