A young Nigerian man named Niyi Olarewaju with twitter handle
@Olaniyi_OP has shared the challenges he encountered why staying in Germany and how he could not afford holiday trips for nine years but the moment he focused on his studies everything changed as he has visited Istanbul, Edinburgh, Reykjavík, London, Brüssels, Belgrade, New York and more counting.
Sharing his story on twitter, he wrote:
“In my first 9 years in Germany, i could not afford any holiday trip, even within Germany, except when i finally managed to fly to Nigeria at the end of 2018 to see my parents after 5 years. Life was tough and i barely got by. Reminiscing on those days of humble beginning, when i had to force myself to survive on 10€ per week in 2013/2014.
Even in those extremely difficult phase of my life, i was undaunted in my belief that phase will not last forever, and that something better awaits me in this country.
So the formula going forward for me was to work hard and focus solely on my studies to rewrite my story despite the hardship i was facing then.
This is me now, in the last one year, i am starting to gallivant around the world, mostly all-expense paid business trips, sometimes flying business class – Istanbul, Edinburgh, Reykjavík, London, Brüssels, Belgrade, New York and counting…
Looking back how this journey started, and where i am slowly getting into today and even the bigger hopes and dreams for tomorrow, honestly, WHO SAYS BOOK NO PAY?
In all, have faith, believe and trust the process and keep pushing hard. Every dream is valid.
As for me, my story is beginning to make more sense now, although still a body of work in progress, and i believe my best is yet to come…
PS: Not all scientists look boring”😂😂😂
