“The Comedy Industry Is Not What It Used To Be, Right Now, I Am Planning On Making Skits” — Gordons
A comedian, Godwin Komone, aka Gordons, says he is still very much in the business of making people laugh, though he had to step back and rebrand.
He told Sunday Scoop, “I am still very much in the comedy industry. I am only trying to re-strategise. The comedy industry is not what it used to be, and we have to adapt to the change. Right now, I am planning on making skits that would be uploaded on YouTube and other social media platforms. Although, I will still be doing the normal comedy concerts, but I am working on maximising the social media space.”
The comedian added that though venturing into skit making might not be an easy ride, he was ready to put in the work to make a success of it. He said, “Since I was born, I have never done anything that came easy. However, I have made up my mind to do all that is necessary to achieve results. The good thing is that it is a familiar terrain. I just have to learn how to edit videos.”
Speaking on his other activities, Gordons said, “I also host events, and I have some activities lined up for the rest of the year. I will be going on a tour of Canada, Europe and the United States of America. This is addition to events that will hold in Uyo (Akwa Ibom), Port Harcourt (Rivers), Calabar (Cross River), Abuja and Lagos.”
