Beyond the esteemed position of the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi as the custodian of Yoruba culture and heritage in Nigeria, the Ooni has ventured into a diverse range of thriving businesses.

As the Founder and Chairman of Gran Imperio Group, the holding company of Real Estate and Construction, Manufacturing, Facilities Management, Leisure and Tourism companies in Nigeria, Oba Ogunwusi has significantly fostered economic growth and development within his domain and beyond.

His businesses stand as a testament to his unwavering commitment to empowering his people and promoting the rich heritage of Ife and the Yoruba nation. Let’s briefly examine some of these businesses.

Inagbe Grand Resorts and Leisure

Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi launched Inagbe Grand Resorts and Leisure in 2013 by transforming a remote jungle called Inagbe Island in Amuwo Odofin LGA, Lagos state. The multi-billion naira resort is the first of its kind in the whole of West Africa bounded by the Lagos Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean.

The world-class resort seats over 3 million square metres of land and provides a beautiful and serene environment. It is a perfect destination for tourists, nature and fun lovers.

Essential Homes

The Ooni of Ife also initiated Essential Homes in January 2014 with the aim to provide affordable luxurious homes to middle and low-income earners.

Oba Adeyeye reportedly began the 1st phase of the project in February 2014. The South Pointe Estate, Lekki, Jacob Mews Estate Yaba, Lakeview Park I and II Estates Lekki, the ongoing Golden Leaf Estate Lafiaji, Lekki and Grand Lake Estate Ajah, Lagos are buildings established by Essential Homes.

Inagbe Cocowood Factory

Ooni Adeyeye’s is the first Furniture brand in Nigeria that uses 100% indigenous raw materials for production. At the factory, Ooni employs over 300 indigenous youths.

OjajaMore Shopping Malls

Oba Adeyeye also unveiled an iconic retail outlet branded OjajaMore, a viable food-chain retail store dealing in groceries and other consumables in 2022.

The project is in fulfilment of his agelong aspiration to redesign retail activities that will be gainfully driven by the Nigerian youths with a view to creating an enduring legacy for Africa in the global space.

The flagship mall was commissioned in Ile-Ife, Osun State last year. Reports say work has been completed work on the Osogbo outlet with those in Akure, Ondo State; Ado Ekiti in Ekiti State, Abeokuta in Ogun State and Lagos presently under construction.

Ojaja University

Earlier this year, Oba Adeyeye unveiled the Ojaja-University, Eyenkorin Ilorin, Kwara State. He disclosed this via his verified social media handles after securing full accreditation for the take-off courses of the institution from the National Universities Commission, (NUC) aided by its Vice Chancellor, Professor Jeleel Ojuade.

He also hinted that it has always been his dream to own a citadel of learning where scholars can be moulded in learning, character and entrepreneurship. This will enable them to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with their peers globally.

In addition to these businesses, the Ooni of Ile-Ife is set to launch a social media business named ‘2geda’. Set for launch on the 9th of August 2023 in Ife, the business-listing platform allows users to enlist their businesses within niche-based categories.
