Black-Owned Vegan Company Named Everything Legendary Expands It’s Products To 850 Stores
Everything that the founders of these vegan food products do is legendary. As a matter of fact, the company’s name speaks for itself.
According to an Instagram post from Everything Legendary, Publix has officially expanded the beloved vegan burger business’ products to 850 stores across seven states.
Those locations include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
What’s more, according to a report by BBC, one of the most important demographics for the plant-based meat industry has quickly become Black Americans as they look to reduce meat consumption and have even increased their desire to become vegans.
This is what inspired the founders of Everything Legendary to create the vegan food brand in the first place.
As previously reported by AfroTech, the company was created by Morgan State graduate Duane Myko, Bowie State alumna Danita Jones and Chef Jumoke Jackson in 2019.
Per co-founder, Myko, his mother’s journey with lupus for more than 35 years included a strict vegan diet, which in turn pushed him to create “a flavorful alternative to meat products.”
“Our goal is to educate the community on the benefits of a healthy vegan lifestyle,” said Myko at the time. “With Everything Legendary, we hope to break the generational curses of unhealthy eating. As everyone knows, Black people have higher rates of blood pressure, heart disease, and obesity. Everything Legendary strives to provide healthy and delicious plant-based meat products that everyone will enjoy.”
Beyond just a powerful mission, Everything Legendary really does live up to the name.
In 2021, within 24 hours of their “Shark Tank” episode, the brand not only landed a deal with Mark Cuban, but additionally, it sold $250,000 worth of burgers online, Entrepreneur reports.
Now, eager customers have additional Publix locations to land their hands on products that range from the staple vegan burgers to plant-based Dragon Wyngz, and more!
