Nigerian Entrepreneur Lands In US For The Mandela Washington Fellowship, Says She Was Amongst 57 Fellow Selected Out Of 11,000 Applicants

Nigerian entrepreneur named Funke Adeoye and the founder of hope behind bars has shared photos on twitter as she landed in the US a week ago for the Mandela Washington Fellowship.

Funke narrated briefly, how she was amongst 57 fellow selected on invitation by the US government for
Mandela Washington Fellowship out of 11,000 that applied.

Sharing on twitter, she wrote:

About a week ago, I arrived the US on
the invitation of the US government for the prestigious @WashFellowship
Mandela Washington Fellowship.
Selected as part of 57 fellow out of 11,000 I am excited for the opportunities this brings for @hopebjehindbar and for Nigeria.

The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship program of the U.S. Government’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI).

YALI was created in 2010 and celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2020. Established in 2014, the Mandela Washington Fellowship has brought nearly 5,800 young leaders from every country in Sub-Saharan Africa to the United States for academic and leadership training. The Fellows, between the ages of 25 and 35, are accomplished innovators and leaders in their communities and countries.
