Victor Paul is a young innovative entrepreneur and the founder of Gluchat, a platform that connects you to friends, families, the services are enormous as the app also provides entertaining contents, like music, games, and that’s not all, it can help you promote your businesses and also perform seamless transactions. The young man speaks to Elorasblog in this interview.

Please tell us a little bit about your background?

I’m Victor Paul, a graduate of Industrial Technology Education from Micheal Okpara University Nigeria. The last child in a family of 4 and a tech savvy person.

What’s was your career dream growing up?

I had so many aspirations as a little child, there wasn’t a definite career path but the ones that caught my interest where mostly tech related careers from science practicals to electronics. Growing up I had this passion to become an astronaut and explore the world, it didn’t seem like something feasible until I had first hand experience with computers during my secondary school days. Right from there I discovered that I can create things writing codes and programming my ideas to real life solutions.

What motivated you to start up Gluchat?

The experiences I had with my previous startups made me motivated to build Gluchat. I’m inquisitive in nature and this made me to explore different ideas, although most of this failed but the lessons I learnt from my failure was my biggest motivation not to give up. With time I developed more interest, self mastery and passion to build.

Connection:
Gluchat makes it possible for people make new connections and stay in touch with friends, family, team and loved ones.

Entertaining contents:
Gluchat provides users unlimited entertainment with all kinds of contents ranging from movies, music and games. Users can choose to follow contents by interest and what inspires them.

Seamless transactions:
Gluchat has a wallet feature which makes it possible for people to send and receive funds with usernames.

Business promotion:
Gluchat helps businesses to promote there products and services with high conversion ads campaigns and sponsored adverts. This feature enables businesses to increase profits.

Matchmaking service:
Gluchat provides matchmaking feature to enable users find new dates and partners. With the filter feature on Gluchat, users can find people in the nearest location and connect with them.

Gluchat makes it possible for users to raise funds to sort out life threatening issues ranging from health, education and financial support. With the fundraising features, users can set there target amount to solve difficult situations.

How did you come up with this business idea?

The idea for Gluchat App was inspired from a sticky board. Having to open many Apps to run my daily transactions and still use different Apps to keep in touch with friends became a hassle, coupled with the constant account restrictions from this social media Apps.
The plan is to build an App that gives users the freedom of expression and the ability to go beyond social. Gluchat offers features that will enable users do there daily transactions in one place.
Gluchat Brand name is taking from the word “Glue” which means the features that keeps users actively using the App and the word “Chat” which relates to connecting with friends and family.

Did you develop the app yourself?

The Gluchat App was developed by a group of techies which I’m a part of the team. We had creative minds to handle each stage of the development, from UI/UX design, App development, compilation and publishing.

Did you attend any form of training before setting up this business?

I didn’t attend any notable training in my tech career. I’m a self taught developer and entrepreneur, developing my skills from different sources including YouTube, blogs and tech courses. I have read so many business books from authors like Robert Kiyosaki and David Allen. This helped me to grow and improve my entrepreneurial skills.

Many youths like you have business ideas, but raising fund to start up is the challenge, how were you able to raise fund for your business?

The initial capital invested in building Gluchat was from my personal funds. When funding became a challenge, I reached out to friends that brought in their funds in exchange for a part of the company shares. This helped to grow the business to a certain level and we’re still open for funding series and interested investors.

Can you share with me the setbacks and challenges you’ve encountered in this business?

The challenge we had building Gluchat was getting the App to work effectively. The App went through series of testing phase, each brought about discovery of bugs which we had to fix as a team until the App became stable for use.
Major setback we face is with funding the project, we need more funding to keep the company running, reach new audience and meet up set goals.

How do you make profits from these services?

Gluchat is a subscription based App, our revenue method is from Premium account upgrades and commission from products sold in the Gluchat marketplace.

Gluchat social App is available on AppStore for iPhone devices and Google Playstore for Android users, this version supports Android version 12 and above.

The lite version Gluchat Go supports all Android devices and it’s available on Google Playstore.
