‘God! Why Did My Baby Have To Die?’ – Mother Of Chrisland Student Whitney Adeniran Cries Out
Blessing Adeniran, the mother of the late student of Chrisland High School, has lamented the death of her daughter.
Whitney Adeniran died on February 9 during a sports event in Agege Stadium. She was buried on March 2.
In a series of posts via Instagram on Wednesday, the bereaved mother questioned why her child had to die.
Blessing also wished her daughter had not gone to school on that ill-fated day.
“Why did Desola go to school that day? Why was she not really sick so that she won’t go? Why did my baby have to die? God!!! Why?” Blessing wrote.
“DeeDee why did you leave us? Why didn’t you hold on for just a minute my child? I would have been there to carry you on my back and shout for help.
“What could I have done differently? Who I offend wey use Pikin death punish me?
“This pain is torture, i can’t control it. How do I cope? How do I move on from this?
“Please if you have practical steps I can take please help me. This is beyond me.
“Deedee took a part of me! Why didn’t I look for her immediately I got to that stadium?”
In February, Blessing accused Chrisland High School of holding back information on the cause of Whitney’s death.
Consequently, the state ministry of education ordered a temporary closure of the school pending an investigation.
The state later revealed that an autopsy showed the 12-year-old girl died from asphyxia and electrocution.
The Lagos ministry of justice established a case of manslaughter and negligence against the school, leading to the arraignment of four staff members.
On April 4, the Ikeja magistrates court granted the school permission to conduct an independent evaluation of the autopsy on Whitney.
