I have had a great privilege spending a few days visiting Nigeria.
It was a chance to see my mum for her birthday, visit family members (after a few years) and also enjoy time with amazing friends.
A trip to Nigeria is always bitter/sweet. Om one hand, you see the low standards across various industries and the struggle of the people. On another hand, you enjoy the amazing food, music and friends. Businesses are booming, the tech industry is phenomenal and the potential of overall growth is huge!
I am sorry I couldn’t connect with everyone. How do you connect with hundreds of friends when you only have a few days. Apologies to those I couldn’t connect with.
Few lessons for me:
- Be grateful- There are so many that are willing to exchange my life for theirs. I need to be more grateful to God. I am blessed beyond measure.
- Stay hungry- Seeing my friends and mentors thriving is so inspiring. They just keep thriving despite the economic pressures, uncertainties and much more.
- Remember home – I grew up here. I learned my values here. I was raised here.
As my mother says “Remember the child of whom you are”.
