Tunde Onakoya Shares How His Mum Seized His Chess Board 16 Years Ago, Today She Wants To Learn How To Play Chess

Chess Master Tunde Onakoya shared a photo of his mum and narrated briefly how 16 years ago she seized his Chess board, today the story is different as his mum came around and asked him to teach her how to play chess.

Tunde Onakoya is a Nigerian chess master, coach, and founder of Chess in Slums Africa.

He has organized a number of interventions for children across slums in Lagos state including Majidun (Ikorodu), Makoko and recently, Oshodi. The children are engaged in a 2 week’s session that seeks to unlock their potential through the game of chess while learning to read, write and acquire basic literacy skills.
