Founder of Legends Barbershop, Sheldon Tatchell recounts moments when he worked at Lewis stores, and was only earning R60 per day, he went further to admonish the youths to start from the bottom.
Read his post below as shared on LinkedIn:
My first casual job was at this Lewis stores, I was only earning R60 per day. Working as a furniture assembler at the age of 18 years old.
This was not the glamorous job I hoped for when I matriculated the previous year. It helped to give me a base for the business I would open one day.
In today’s society we live in. We want instant gratification, instant satisfaction and instant wealth.
It really does not work that way.
You have to start from the bottom, build a base and work your way up.
What was your first job ?
